Green Craft Magazines Spring 2011 Issue Features... MIMIBIRD

It was so exciting receiving my spring 2011 issue of Green Craft Magazine in the mail yesterday... slowly flipping through keeping an eye out for my vintage collage signs. Page 94 and 95 caught by eye not because of my signs but my name, Mimi Solum was printed in a large font and my heart jumped!!

The article by Jennifer Jackson reads:

Inspired barn wood
When Mimi Solum's dad developed an interest in tearing down old barns, it inspired a fun collaborative project with her parents. "He thought to use the smaller pieces of wood for signs," she explains. My mom then began playing with paints and words to follow through with my dad's vision." This inspired Mimi to get into her box of buttons, old paper, and photos, which guided her creativity. "In one night I made over 20 of these signs - all so unique and fun," she says. "Its been great to share the creative process with my parents and the creations with everyone else." Mimi loves making custom orders too. "People have great ideas and its very fulfilling to me to bring their vision to life," she says.

Thank you Green Craft for including my signs in your fabulous publication! Pick up your own issue on stands at your local Barns and Noble or other book store or order it online at www.greencraftmagazine.com.
