June Market Day was another exciting show!

If you haven't checked out Market Day mark your calendar for the last Saturday of each month through October and a special black Friday show too!


My mom was in town to help me out. She has been doing craft shows since before I existed so I got some amazing help and input.

My dad loves auctions, so of course when my parents came to visit me, my dad decided to spend his Saturday morning at a near by auction.



His front seat, back seat and truck were full full full!!! He wishes he had brought his trailer...



The fun part is when he gets to show my mom, who gets sooo excited about each treasure.







.... and of course, I had to keep some things for myself. Both suitcases are in great condition, I am hoping the cart encourages me to walk more and a small wooden box with tiny jars with blue lids made me and my obsession with organization so excited!

Market Day returns for 2010 in a new location closer to the downtown Des Moines Farmers' Market!

Dozens of vendors with awesome handmade and vintage wares ready to rock your socks off. Arts. Crafts. Not arts and crafts. This is NOT your grandma's craft fair - unless your grandma is totally awesome and likes cool indie stuff from young, local makers.

Market Day 2010 will be held indoors at 300 SW 5th Street in Des Moines, IA. It's in the old Aherns-Pershing warehouse across from the Whiteline Lofts and Science Center on the south side of MLK, next to Art316.

Market Day runs the last Saturday of every month, May-October with our special Black Friday event in November.

There's street parking, several lots nearby, and even a big 'ol bike rack! And you can get your snacks in with gourmet cupcakes from DarbyCakes and a booth full of breakfast burritos. Join us!

Last month my friend Renee and I photographed a wedding in Indianola, Iowa. The bride and groom set up a favor table for their guests and it was full of beautiful, yummy candy!
